If you want to PvP, then don't go with the feral druid. Rogue is much, much, mcuh better for PvP. If you are amazing and can get 1700 with a feral druid, then you could probably have 1900 on the rogue. An alternative to not being gone for long is to dismiss pet and then go afk. Or the stay and run away to auto dismiss works too.......
